Seasonal Mosquito Program
What It Is

What Commercial Mosquito Control Actually Covers

Commercial mosquito control in Indianapolis is a seasonal management program, not a one-time spray. ProTech combines residual barrier applications on foliage and harborage with targeted source reduction around drains, planters, and water features that silently breed mosquitoes through the summer. Our technicians map each property on the first visit, flag standing-water risks, and build a treatment rotation timed to local mosquito pressure from May through September. The goal is measurable reduction in biting pressure during the hours your guests, residents, or staff are actually outdoors using the space.

For properties with recurring outdoor events, tight guest-experience standards, or large campus footprints, we layer automated misting systems, pre-event treatments, and zone-based adjustments onto the seasonal barrier program. Every application is performed by an in-house ProTech technician — never a sub — using label-compliant products selected for the specific setting, whether that is a rooftop bar, a hospital courtyard, or a multifamily pool deck. You get documented service, guest-safe timing, and a real reduction in mosquito activity rather than a fogger and a handshake.

Who It's For

Indianapolis Properties We Protect From Mosquitoes

Commercial outdoor spaces where mosquito pressure directly impacts revenue, reviews, and resident retention.

In Their Words
Our rooftop bar was getting crushed by mosquitoes last August and we were seeing it in our reviews. ProTech built us a barrier and misting rotation that held up through the end of the season, and guests stopped complaining within two visits. They treat around service hours and never leave us scrambling before a ticketed event.

How It Works

Our 4-step commercial process.

Structured, documented, and built around the compliance standards your facility faces.

01

Site Walk & Source Mapping

We walk the property with you, map harborage and standing-water sources, and identify the zones driving mosquito pressure for your guests or residents.

02

Program Design

We build a treatment rotation matched to your season, event calendar, and guest-experience hours — including any misting system integration.

03

Scheduled Applications

In-house technicians perform barrier treatments on a 3–4 week rotation and knock out breeding sources each visit, with pre-event pre-treatments layered in.

04

Season Review

At season end, we walk the site again, review service documentation, and adjust next season's plan based on what actually drove pressure this year.

Frequently Asked

Commercial Mosquito Control — common questions.

When should we start our mosquito program in Indianapolis?+
We recommend onboarding in April so your first barrier treatment lands in late April or early May, before the first big emergence. Starting early matters because once a property has established mosquito populations in shrub lines and standing water, it takes longer to pull pressure back down. Properties that wait until they are already getting complaints usually need 2-3 visits to catch up, while properties on a preventive schedule stay ahead of pressure the whole summer.
Do barrier treatments actually work or is this just fogging?+
Barrier treatments are not fogging. Fogging kills mosquitoes that are flying at the moment of application and wears off within hours. Barrier treatments leave a residual on the underside of foliage, shrubs, and other harborage where mosquitoes rest during the day. When they land there over the following weeks, the residual does the work. That residual approach is why properly applied barrier programs hold down pressure for 3-4 weeks per treatment.
Is it safe around guests, kids, and pets?+
Yes, when applied correctly. We use label-compliant products, time applications before service hours or after close, and allow appropriate re-entry intervals before guests return to treated areas. For restaurants and hotels, we typically treat in the morning before lunch service or after closing. For apartments and schools, we coordinate with property management on timing and signage. Every product we use is approved for the setting we are applying it in.
Can you treat just for a specific event?+
Yes. Our Event / Single Treatment tier is designed for weddings, corporate events, grand openings, and ticketed functions. We pre-treat 24-48 hours before the event so the residual is at peak effectiveness when guests arrive. For venues that host events weekly or monthly, a seasonal program almost always costs less per event than booking single treatments all summer, so we will run both options for you.
Do you service commercial misting systems?+
Yes. We inspect, refill, nozzle-check, and adjust commercial automated misting systems as part of our seasonal programs, and we will flag any mechanical issues for repair. Misting systems work best when paired with a barrier program — the misting handles active flight zones during specific hours, while the barrier handles resting mosquitoes in the surrounding foliage. Running only one or the other usually underperforms.
What about standing water we cannot remove?+
Some water sources cannot be eliminated — fountains, retention ponds, drainage areas, planter reservoirs. For those, we use larvicide treatments that break the mosquito breeding cycle at the source without harming the water feature. We will identify every breeding source on the first visit, separate them into fixable versus permanent, and build treatment into the schedule for the ones that have to stay.
Do you service properties outside Marion County?+
Yes. We cover the full nine-county Indianapolis metro for commercial mosquito work, including Hamilton, Hendricks, Boone, Johnson, Hancock, Morgan, Shelby, and Madison counties. For multi-site accounts with properties across the metro, we build a unified schedule so your Carmel hotel, your downtown restaurant, and your Greenwood apartment complex all stay on the same treatment rotation with consolidated reporting.
